Angus became known for his photography, capturing many events in his community including the opening of Wallyford's new primary school, where he was invited as "Angus Bathgate Visual Storyteller".
In July 2023, he was invited to attend a garden party to celebrate the Coronation, in recognition of his contribution to his community.
